Mountains dwarfed

The mighty peaks do timid try,
To scale the heights of sapphire sky,
Surround and tilt my eyes to see,
The sun that shines with grace, so free,
Casting rays of warmth and light,
Upon our dark cold hearts that might,
Deny the glory due your name,
Or stifle tribute of your fame.
In wonder upon them I daily gaze,
But hills alone won't earn my praise,
Nor can they a single sinner save,
But an epic image to me they gave;
They speak of The One enthroned above,
Mightiest of Lords, yet defining Love,
With worth I just can’t comprehend,
Nor grasp that You would choose to send,
Christ your Son down here to earth,
To rescue us and gift new birth,
His life for mine, how can’t I sing?
To you, my holy, righteous King!
Behold this God who came to save!
See Jesus risen from the grave!
Reigning now, forever above,
Those little mountains dwarfed by love.
